    The Wyoming Foundation, a division of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, is accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations for the 2011 grant cycle. Applications are due May 3, 2011. The application and eligibility criteria is available at www.wyomingfoundation.org. This year the entire application process will be conducted online.

  • Local Foundations Partner to Fund Erie County Arts & Cultural Organizations

    The Fund for the Arts (FFA), has raised $430,000 to be dispersed to arts and cultural organizations in Erie County. The Fund for the Arts is a unique funding collaborative made up of Western New York (WNY) foundations dedicated to supporting specific initiatives that strengthen the WNY region as a center for arts and culture.

    The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (CFGB) is now accepting Letters of Intent for 2011 grants through its website at www.cfgb.org. Letters of Intent are due March 1, 2011. The grants are made possible by the generosity of donors who ask the Foundation to use their funds to address the changing needs of the community.

    The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo’s 2011 competitive scholarship application is now available online at www.cfgb.org and can be submitted until March 1, 2011. Support materials from applicants are due April 1, and award recipients will be notified in July.

Through a cutting edge new website, GrowWNY.org, the Foundation will help Western New Yorkers live a greener, healthier and more sustainable lifestyle and provide a new way for environmental organizations to communicate with the general public.

  • WNY Artists and Arts Organizations Invited

    The Fund for the Arts (FFA), a unique funding collaborative made up of nine Western New York foundations, is partnering with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to rethink how vital arts support services can best be delivered in Western New York. To begin the process, representatives of arts and cultural organizations in the eight-county region of Western New York are invited to take part in one of two informational meetings in August.

  • Community Foundation Announces 650 Kids Tested and 100 Homes Made Lead Safe

    The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo announced that its lead poisoning prevention campaign tested more than 650 children for lead and made over 100 homes lead safe in its first year. Buffalo is home to six of the highest risk zip codes for lead poisoning and research shows that it causes permanent and irreversible damage to the brain and central nervous system seriously undermining a child’s ability to learn and may lead to violent behavior later in life.

  • Community Foundation CEO Selected For National Project to Advance Women's Leadership

    Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo President and CEO Clotilde Perez-Bode Dedecker has been selected as one of 13 Visionary Delegates to serve a three-year term and shape the Declaration of Equality for the national Vision 2020 project. The project seeks to promote women’s leadership and gender equality by uniting women across disciplines to begin a national dialogue and propose an action agenda to effect positive change. The Declaration for Equality will be shaped by identifying actions necessary to overcome barriers to equality and setting measurable objectives for the next decade.
