    The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo sends our thoughts and prayers to the millions of people in Greater Houston who are dealing with the devastation associated with Hurricane Harvey.
    Although the extent of the damage and death toll is not yet clear, the National Weather Service is already calling the storm “unprecedented” and recovering from the disaster could take years, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. There are an untold number of homes and people affected.

The Bauman Fund for the Arts administers grants annually to Western New York organizations that specialize in the areas of traditional, classical ballet and opera.

Cuomo to create homeownership opportunities on Buffalo's East Side and in the Town of Cheektowaga, the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo along with its partners in the Green and Healthy Homes Initiative will receive $2 million to assist approximately 200 families at elevated risk of losing their homes in those neighborhoods due to high costs of maintenance and energy usage.
