Community Foundation Announces 2013 Grants Process

January 09, 2013, Buffalo, NY—The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (CFGB) is now accepting Letters of Intent for 2013 grants through its website at Letters of Intent are due February 1, 2013. This will be the only granting cycle for 2013.

The Community Foundation will review the Letters of Intent and selected organizations will be invited to submit full applications in March 2013. Awardees will be notified in mid May.

The Foundation awards annual grants to nonprofit organizations with programs that address the following four focus areas as identified in the Foundation’s five-year strategic plan:

  • Improve Educational Achievement for Low Income Students
  • Increase Racial/Ethnic Equity
  • Enhance and Leverage Significant Natural Resources
  • Strengthen the Region as a Center for Architecture, Arts, and Culture

Applicants must be 501©3 nonprofit organizations located within the eight counties of Western New York: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming. Nonprofits should review eligibility requirements and specific objectives under each of the four focus areas at prior to submitting a Letter of Intent. The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo holds over 750 funds and is one of the region’s largest grantmakers. Since its inception in 1919, the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo has granted over $140 million to the Western New York community.
