Community Foundation Awards over $400,000 to Area Organizations

BUFFALO, NY, June 07, 2013 -- The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo today announced awards of over $400,000 to 22 Western New York nonprofit organizations through the Foundation’s Competitive Grant Cycle. Grant amounts range up to $50,000 and have been awarded to area nonprofit programs that address strategic priority areas where the Foundation leads change and makes grants on behalf of donors who have established their funds to address the most critical needs in the community.

“With our knowledge of community needs, history of strong investment performance and unparalleled focus on honoring our donors’ intent, we are able to grow charitable dollars so that they have the greatest possible impact on the pressing needs of our community in the present, and continue towards the future,” said Clotilde Perez-Bode Dedecker, President and CEO of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.

The Foundation awards annual grants to nonprofit organizations with programs that address one or more of the four focus areas identified in the Foundation’s five-year strategic plan.
