Niagara Area Foundation Offering Grants for Civic Groups [The Buffalo News]

LEWISTON – The Niagara Area Foundation will distribute $50,000 in grants to support health, human services, arts, civic, community development, education and environmental groups in Niagara County.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. Oct. 15 and are available for submission at

The Niagara Area Foundation, a division of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo will prioritize applications that have the greatest impact on positive youth development and demonstrate collaboration with other organizations.

Approximately $50,000 is available for the 2014 grant cycle, with maximum grant awards of $10,000.

The Niagara Area Foundation awards are built by gifts and bequests from numerous individuals and groups.

Most recently, the Niagara Area Foundation provided grants to the Dale Association, Isaiah 61 Project, People and Possibilities and the YWCA of the Tonawandas.

The Niagara Area Foundation, a division of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, was established in 2000 by a group of Niagara County individuals who wanted to work to provide support and charity-oriented philanthropic initiatives for residents in Niagara County.
