Yahoo Community Benefit Fund Announces 2015 Grant Process

Lockport, NY – The Yahoo Community Benefit Fund (The Fund) is now accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2015 grant cycle. Applications are due August 31, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. and are available for submission at

The Fund, which will operate for seven years (from 2015 – 2021), will award grants annually to organizations that are located in and/or serve Niagara County residents. Preference will be given to projects that are located in and/or benefit the Greater Lockport area. This year’s grant cycle will prioritize applications that support The Fund’s five interest areas, including:

  • Family and Community Building
  • Youth Education
  • Economic Development
  • Environment
  • Animal Welfare

Approximately $230,000 is available for the 2015 grant cycle. Grant awards are determined by The Fund’s Resident Advisory Council, with decisions to be announced late November, 2015.

Organizations that are interested in learning more about this grant application process are encouraged to attend the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo’s grant briefing session on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Historic Palace Theatre, 2 East Avenue, Lockport, NY.
