Call For Nominations: The CGLI's 2015 Pay It Forward Awards

Buffalo, NY – The Communities of Giving Legacy Initiative (CGLI) is now accepting nominations from the public for its third annual 2015 Pay It Forward Awards. Nominations for individuals and organizations are due Friday, September 18, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Details on how to submit a nomination are available at www.cfgb.org/pay-it-forward.

The CGLI’s Pay It Forward Awards recognize individuals and/or organizations that have consistently helped others in their communities. The Pay it Forward Award is the only award the CGLI bestows upon individuals and/or organizations as recognition of commitment and volunteerism for and within Western New York Communities of Color. For the past two years, the CGLI has recognized outstanding individuals and organizations that embody its mission; to inspire and create life changing experiences for youth of color. Prior Pay It Forward Award recipients include:

  • First Niagara Financial Group & First Niagara Foundation
  • General Motors Tonawanda Engine & GM Foundation
  • Michael Martin, Executive Director, Native American Community Services of Erie and Niagara Counties
  • Miss Borinquen Leadership Development Committee

  • The Links, Inc. Buffalo, Erie County and Niagara Falls, NY Chapters

The CGLI was established in 2008 as an initiative of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. In 2009, the members of the CGLI Steering Committee devoted their time, talent and treasure to develop an endowment with the mission of increasing philanthropy within and for Western New York Communities of Color. Today, the CGLI’s focus continues to be the creation of positive change in the lives of youth of color living in low-income communities via access to people, places, and experiences that help them achieve positive life goals.
