Yahoo Community Benefit Fund Announces 2016 Grant Process

Lockport, NY – The Yahoo Community Benefit Fund (The Fund) is now accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2016 grant cycle. Applications are due April 29, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. and are available for submission at cfgb.org/yahoo.

The Fund will award grants annually to organizations that are located in and/or serve Niagara County residents. Preference will be given to organizations or projects that are located in and/or benefit theGreater Lockport area. This year’s grant cycle will prioritize applications that support The Fund’s five interest areas, including:

  • Family and Community Building
  • Youth Education
  • Economic Development
  • Environment
  • Animal Welfare

Approximately $230,000 is available for the 2016 grant cycle. Grant awards are determined by The Fund’s Resident Advisory Council, with decisions to be announced late July 2016.

Organizations that are interested in learning more about this grant application process are encouraged to attend a grant briefing session on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Lockport Ice Arena, 34 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY, 14094.
