Community Foundation to Host Grant Briefing Sessions for Four 2017 Competitive Grant Processes

The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo will host optional information sessions on December 13, 2016 between 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for prospective applicants interested in applying to four field of interest funds for the 2017 grantmaking year. Four information sessions will be held for each of the following four interest areas (times below):

  • Caregiving
  • Community Assets
  • Design and Access
  • Youth Sports

    The Community Foundation will begin accepting Letters of Intent for these four areas of interest on January 3, 2017 through 4:00 p.m. on January 20, 2017. Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located within the eight counties of Western New York, including: Allegany; Cattaraugus; Chautauqua; Erie; Genesee; Niagara; Orleans; and Wyoming Counties. For Caregiving, government agencies may also apply. For Community Assets, only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that reside in Erie County may apply.

This grant opportunity is just a piece of the Community Foundation’s annual investment in Western New York, which totaled over $14 million in 2015. The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo holds over 800 funds with assets totaling more than $350 million and is one of the region’s largest grantmakers.

  • Caregiving – 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Community Assets – 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Design and Access – 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Youth Sports – 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
