Community Foundation Accepting Applications for 2017 Grants
Buffalo, NY – The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is now accepting Letters of Intent for 2017 competitive grant processes that support the following areas of interest:
- Improve educational achievement for students living in low-income households
- Increase racial/ethnic equity
- Enhance and leverage significant natural resources, with priorities determined by the Shared Agenda for the Environment
- Strengthen the region as a center for architecture, arts and culture
- Community Assets
- Design and Access
- Youth Sports
Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located within the eight counties of Western New York, including: Allegany; Cattaraugus; Chautauqua; Erie; Genesee; Niagara; Orleans; and Wyoming Counties. For Caregiving, government agencies may also apply. For Community Assets, only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that reside in Erie County may apply.

These grant opportunities are just a piece of the Community Foundation’s annual investment in Western New York which totaled over $14 million in 2015. The Community Foundation holds over 800 funds with nearly $350 million in total assets and is one of the region’s largest grantmakers.
