Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo

Racial/Ethnic Equity

Community Goal: Increase racial/ethnic equity

The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is uniquely positioned to address the legacy of inequitable systems, policies and procedures established by the regional economic decline, which increased segregation and widened income gaps. Our region is experiencing a renaissance and we need to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to fulfill their highest potential and contribute to our growth. People of color are the fastest growing segment of the population in our region, representing a higher percentage of our future workforce. Buffalo will be a stronger region economically when all residents have the opportunity to fulfill their educational and career potential. Our workforce will be better trained and earn higher wages, which will continue to grow our region’s GDP.
