Buffalo, N.Y. — The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, on behalf of Daniel C. and Beatrice M. Fisher Fund, announced awards totaling nearly $98,000 to seven Western New York nonprofit organizations located in or serving the town of Clarence through the Fund’s 2024 Competitive Grants process. According to the clients’ wishes, grants have been awarded to area nonprofits that support public educational, charitable, recreational, conservation, cultural, or benevolent uses and purposes as may benefit persons living in the Town of Clarence.
A preference was given to requests that address the needs of the senior citizen population; improve the academic outcomes for special needs students; address matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all residents resulting in positive change; and/or improve the natural environment, including matters of conservation and recreation.
The Daniel C. and Beatrice M. Fisher Fund 2024 Competitive Grants recipients are:
- Arts for Learning WNY – $12,517 for Creative Family Programming
- Brothers of Mercy – $15,050 for Rehabilitation Equipment for Seniors with Mobility Challenges
- Center for Elder Law & Justice, Inc. – $14,500 for Mobile Legal Unit Clarence Expansion
- FeedMore WNY, Inc. – $19,066 for FeedMore WNY – Clarence Home Delivered Meals 2025
- Hearts and Hands–Faith in Action, Inc. – $15,000 for Hearts and Hands: Clarence Transportation
- Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo, Inc. – $5,000 for Personal Emergency Response Unit (PERS) for Clarence Patients
- Western New York Land Conservancy – $16,000 for Roxberry Preserve Restoration Project- Phase II
