Nonprofit Endowment and Long-Term Fund Options

Each of the Community Foundation’s relationships with our nonprofit clients is different due to our clients’ unique missions and needs. Regardless of your choice, your organization maintains responsibility for honoring your donors’ intent and restrictions. Currently, the Community Foundation is working with more than 85 organizations.

Endowments are designed to create a sustainable source of funding for organizations. For example, a gift of $400,000 given in 1975 increased to a value of $1.5 million in 2017 without anyone adding to the original gift. During that time, $1.7 million was granted out from the original gift.

For those organizations committed to providing services over a long period of time – and require a sustainable source of funding to do so – the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo provides an excellent option for endowment management.

Organizations that work with us benefit from our more than $485 million investment portfolio that has consistently outperformed benchmarks.
