In 2007, we joined forces with the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo in order to expand our capacity and philanthropic scope and better serve the residents of our area. As a result of this partnership, the dedicated volunteer leaders of the Wyoming Foundation will be able to concentrate on responding to the current and emerging needs of Wyoming County. What’s more, we will have the opportunity to tap the expertise and significant resources of CFGB. Originally an important source of funding for the Wyoming County Hospital, the Wyoming Foundation expanded its scope to provide support for the community’s general needs in the late 1980’s. Its $1.6 million endowment, built by gifts and bequests from numerous individuals and groups has most recently provided grants to Literacy Volunteers, Beaver Meadow Audubon Center and libraries in Warsaw and Perry. Its largest fund, the Mark E. Strome Scholarship Fund provides educational support to students in the Warsaw Central Schools.
2009 Holiday Appeal Underway! In 2009, the Wyoming Foundation helped over 2,400 children gain better access to educational information, 500 local and rising artists get a step closer to fulfilling their potential and supported the rebuild of Beaver Lodges Cabin…imagine what we could do in 2010 with your help! For 35 years the Wyoming Foundation has helped donors make the most of their generosity by partnering with them to support organizations making a difference in the lives of Wyoming County residents. Since 1974, the Foundation and its donors have given more than $250,000 to improve education, support the arts and to fund capital improvements in Wyoming County. In these challenging economic times our help is needed even more. As you make your annual gifts to charity this holiday season we hope you will consider making a gift through the Wyoming Foundation--together, our resources can make a difference.
