Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Announces New Board Member, Board Leadership Positions 

Buffalo, N.Y. — The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is pleased to announce that local business leader Nancy Ware has joined its Board of Directors.

Nancy Ware is the founder of EduKids, Western New York’s largest privately owned group of 16 child care centers with more than 450 employees, serving over 2,000 families. After leading EduKids for 30 years, Nancy transitioned it to new owners in 2020. She now serves as President of WPS Management Company.

Nancy has been an active community volunteer for decades, serving on the boards of The Buffalo Zoo, WNED Buffalo-Toronto Public Media, Catholic Health Systems and many others. In addition, she was the first woman elected to the Board of Directors of Evans National Bank. Business First awarded her a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Women of Influence Honors in 2019. Nancy earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Canisius College.

Additionally, the Community Foundation is pleased to announce that its new Chair of the Board is Hon. Rose H. Sconiers. Other officers are: Alex Montante, Vice Chair; Steve Finch, Vice Chair; Lawrence C. Franco, Esq., Secretary; and Cheryl Jankowski, Treasurer.
