Nominations open for Community of Giving Legacy Initiative’s 2023 Pay It Forward Awards, Deadline is September 15

Buffalo, N.Y. – The Communities of Giving Legacy Initiative (CGLI), a fund of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, is pleased to announce that the nomination process for its Pay It Forward Awards is now open. These annual awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals or organizations that embody the CGLI’s mission of cultivating positive change in the lives of trailblazing youth of color living within Western New York.

Since 2012, dozens of individuals and organizations have been recognized for their efforts of consistently supporting youth of color in our community. Emphasis is placed on service to the community and educating the next generation, with a focus on showcasing community champions that reflect the multicultural and ethnic diversity of the CGLI mission.

The ideal candidate(s) will meet the following criteria:

  • Significant achievement and recognition in creating positive change in the lives of trailblazing youth of color;
  • Dedication to service to the community, civic affairs, and volunteerism outside of work;
  • Demonstrated ongoing support for the CGLI and its mission.

The 2022 honoree was: Tiffany Lewis, Founder and CEO of Confident Girl Mentoring. You can see a full list of past honorees here.

Nominations should be submitted online and are due September 15, 2023. A link to the nomination form to the Pay It Forward Awards can be found at www.theCGLI.org.

Award winners will be honored at the annual Pay It Forward Awards on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
