Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Awards More Than $710,000 to Western New York Organizations

Buffalo, N.Y. — The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo announced awards totaling more than $710,000 to 31 Western New York nonprofit organizations through its 2023 Competitive Grants process. Competitive grants have been awarded to area nonprofits that support at least one of the Community Foundation’s four community goals:

  • Achieve racial/ethnic equity
  • Promote economic mobility through educational achievement, workforce readiness and access to family sustaining jobs for residents living in low-income households
  • Steward significant environmental resources in the context of climate resilience
  • Promote regional vibrancy through architecture, arts and culture

The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo 2023 Competitive Grants recipients are:

  • Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology – $22,000
  • Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper – $25,000
  • Buffalo Prep – $50,000
  • Clean Air Coalition of WNY – $20,000
  • Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County – $23,000
  • Grassroots Gardens of WNY – $15,000
  • Jericho Road Community Health Center – $20,000
  • Just Buffalo Literary Center – $25,000
  • King Urban Life Center – $30,000
  • Lions SEE – $15,695
  • Martin House Restoration Corporation – $24,000
  • Massachusetts Avenue Project – $20,000
  • MCC-DC dba West Side Community Services – $20,000
  • Mental Health Advocates of WNY – $30,000
  • Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor Commission – $25,000
  • Nusantara Arts – $20,000
  • Peace of the City – $20,000
  • Project Stork – $18,000
