The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (CFGB) is a 501(c)3 public charity holding more than 750 different charitable funds, large and small, established by individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and businesses to benefit Western New York.
For more than 90 years, we've been a link between those who want to give and those people and organizations who have needs in Western New York. We help donors identify options for giving and carry out their wishes.
Ultimately, our goal is to assist donors in making the most of their generosity.

Today Lumina Foundation announced that Buffalo will be among the first 20 cities in America to partner with Lumina Foundation in a mobilization effort designed to increase the number of local residents with postsecondary credentials.
The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo’s William F. Thiel Fund is now accepting grant applications for the fund’s 2013 grant cycle. Applications are due December 16, 2013 and are available for submission through the Foundation’s website.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Regional Administrator, Judith A. Enck joined representatives of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo and a Buffalo family to highlight the organization’s successful efforts to reduce indoor air pollution that can trigger asthma attacks.
